What are the main Fire Safe testing standards for valves?

The most commonly applied Fire Safe standards for valves are:

• ISO 10497:2022 – The broadest and most widely requested standard, covering general industrial valves of many types (gate, globe, ball, butterfly, plug), with both metal and soft seats. Internationally recognized across multiple industries.
• API 607:2022 – Specifically developed for quarter-turn valves (ball, plug, butterfly) with soft seats, and widely used in the refining and petrochemical sector.

Note: Other standards exist, such as API 6FA (gate and ball valves in upstream oil & gas)
