For this project, ITIS tested the grout lines of a jacket foundation to demonstrate the integrity of the joints according to the client’s requirements.

Traditional template-type offshore platform foundations are often supported by cylindrical “pipe” piles that are guided through tubular legs (main piles) or sleeves (skirt piles) forming an integral part of the jacket frame. The structural connection between the pile and the jacket is usually provided by filling the annulus between pile and sleeve (or leg) with neat cement grout, commonly referred to simply as “grout.”
