Burst Testing

Usually a burst test is executed to detect the weakest part of the material.

The object will be pressurized to see what pressure is required to “burst” open the object. A piping manufacturer asked ITIS to perform a burst-test on a pipe measuring 7000 mm long with a diameter of 1200 mm. Burst-test pressure: 168 bar.
